Game on!!

Looking forward to getting the show on the road. For some reason I think Lacavalier has a big game tonight and the Flyers go on to win 4-2.

Judging by last nights games, there will be a lot of scoring this year. I'm sure tonight will not be an exception

Leafs look good, but as of right now, I'm fully expecting and hoping the Flyers will win this game, though not easily.

Tonight is the 2013/14 Philadelphia Flyers opener. They've yet to play a meaningful game. I don't want any female doging about the lineup. I don't want people hoping they lose to replace the coach. I don't want female doging about our defense, goalie, or team defense. They've yet to play a game. If you are truly a Flyers' fan, you should be realistic to one end, but wishing your team the best for this game. If you aren't, go be a Calgary fan.

I'm a big Hartnell fan - he's a guy I always want on my fantasy roster - do you think he gets back to form this year - he seemed off last year (injuries? tired? bad linemates? I don't know why lol).

Hope it's a competetive game boys!

I don't want any excuses about "Oh, the Flyers haven't played in soooo long and the Leafs played last night. That's why they got off to a bad start."

I will lose it if I hear that from the broadcasters.

I don't want to hear excuses if the Flyers start slowly tonight. I just don't want to hear it.

Otherwise, let's drop the puck and see where this team is at right now.

Totally agree.

If they can't come out for this game with their hair on fire, something's wrong.

Expect somewhere around 25-30 goals and 50-55 points. That's if he's healthy. The 37 goals he scored 2 years ago shouldn't be expected.

As much as I love the banter, we need to stay focused today. This is an all hockey day. I apologize for bringing up the NFL

Hockey is back! I actually watched all the games last night!!
With the Leafs, This is their 4th game in six nights so they might be a little gased. My evaluation of the Leafs last night, D was a little sloppy in the beginning but slowly started to get organized. Ranger didn't play bad but was a little slow and Gardiner looked good for most of the game but was still making mistakes. Gunnerson also looked shakey. Philly would have to attack and keep the pressure on the Leafs end and force turnovers.
Guys to watch out for: Kadri (kid is amazing and fast), Kessel (makes opportunities out of nothing), JVR (has looked great right out of the gates. I say he scores 30 this season).
Should be a good one tonight!
P.S. Can't wait to see what Garth writes tomorrow after the Sabres get mangled.

Giroux sets the tempo with a big first shift. Voracek banks one in the first to prove last season was no fluke.

Luke Schenn gets JVR on a big open ice hit.

Flyers prevail in a tight-one, 4-3. (Voracek, Couturier, Lecavalier, and Simmonds with the goals)

Bill, have the Flyers been using Schenn and Streit together in the preseason? Schenn and Timonen were the only pairing I trusted last season. Are they just trying to spread the wealth by breaking them up?
